In the headquarters of NATO today, July 11, starts the NATO summit, which will last two days with the participation of leaders of countries-members and partners, including Ukraine, reports replyua.net.
It is expected that the subject of discussion of the summit will be the question of strengthening the deterrence and defence posture of the Alliance, ensuring global and regional stability, combating terrorism, and enhancing cooperation with the European Union, the modernization of NATO, a fair distribution of financial costs of defense among allies, and the assertion of democratic values and the firmness of TRANS-Atlantic unity. Also, tomorrow, July 12, the North Atlantic Council at the level of heads of state and government of countries-members of NATO will hold a meeting with the presidents of Ukraine and Georgia.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will make a joint statement with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Moreover, the President of Ukraine will take part in the meeting dedicated to the NATO mission in Afghanistan, and will hold a series of bilateral meetings.
