Netanyahu listed requirements for Russia on Syria

In light of the tense relations between Israel and Iran, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu first on July 11 to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to once again state that tel Aviv will not tolerate the consolidation of Tehran in Syria.

This week I will fly to Moscow for an important meeting with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. We meet from time to time in order to ensure coordination of security and of course to discuss regional development, he said.

According to Netanyahu, he will once again stress the two main “principles” of Israel — which intend to implement with the assistance of the Russian head of state.

First, we will not tolerate the establishment of military presence from Iran and its Trustees, wherever it is in Syria, not near the border not at a distance from it. Second, we will require that Syria and the Syrian military strictly adhere to the agreement reached in 1974.

According to unconfirmed reports, Iran’s role in Syria will be discussed during a meeting on 16 July in Helsinki between Donald trump Vladimir Putin.

Last week, the US presidential Advisor for national security John Bolton said that the historic meeting will provide an opportunity for “larger negotiations to assist in the withdrawal of Iranian forces from Syria.” However, the press Secretary of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov denied this information, saying it was “not true”.

Israel has repeatedly expressed concern over the alleged attempt by Iran to establish a permanent military presence in Syria by increasing its influence in the region. Tehran has consistently denied these allegations, stressing that the country only sends military advisers at the request of the Syrian government to accelerate the liberation of the Arab Republic of jihadists.

Iranian military advisers in Syria

We will remind, the special adviser to the speaker of the Iranian Parliament for international Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian during a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran Salah al-zawawi said that his country will continue to provide “strong support” of Syria in the fight against terrorism.

Israel’s trying to establish dominance in Syria immediately after the IG, but the resistance forces and military advisors from the Islamic Republic of Iran will maintain its presence in Syria to combat terrorism.
