Vilkul proposes to deprive of liberty for up to six years for propaganda of same-sex relationships / photo UNIAN
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a draft law “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on protection of public morality and traditional family values” (registration number 9183), which proposes to introduce criminal liability for propaganda of same-sex sexual relations.
The initiator of this bill is MP from the faction “Opposition bloc” Oleksandr Vilkul.

The bill proposes to Supplement the criminal code a new article 150-2 as follows: “Propaganda of same-sex sexual relations that could negatively affect physical and mental health, moral and spiritual development of the child.” These changes provide that the Commission repeatedly during the year, willful misconduct in respect of the child that promote same sex sexual relations and actions, which are expressed in a public demonstration of lifestyle of the persons conducting same-sex sexual relationships, their attitudes and behavior, entails the imposition of detention for up to three years or deprivation of liberty for a term of three to five years.
If it will make a governmental official, and will also contribute to this, it is punishable by arrest for a period up to four years or imprisonment for the term from four to six years.
Also, the bill provides for the importation into Ukraine of works that promote same sex sexual relations, or distribution or their production, storage, transportation or other movement, shall be punished by a fine of up to one hundred fifty non-taxable minimum incomes, or arrest for a term up to six months, or restraint of liberty for a term up to three years with confiscation of works propagating violence and cruelty, same-sex sex, racial, national or religious intolerance and discrimination, their means of production and distribution. The same action on film and video, a cult of violence and cruelty, same-sex sex, racial, national or religious intolerance and discrimination, as well as the sale to minors or dissemination among them of works propagating violence and cruelty, same-sex sex, racial, national or religious intolerance and discrimination, shall be punished with fine from one hundred to three hundred untaxed minimum incomes, or restraint of liberty for a term up to five years.
