The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the killing of the leader of the terrorist organization “DNR” Alexander Zakharchenko “blatant provocation” aimed at sabotaging the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov stated about impossibility of negotiations in the “channel format” after the elimination of the leader of the terrorist organization “DNR” Alexander Zakharchenko.

As the correspondent of UNIAN in the Russian Federation, Lavrov told reporters.

“In the current situation, of course, impossible to talk about the next meetings in the “Normandy format”, as wanted by many European partners. This is a serious situation that you want to perform. We’re working on it”, – said Lavrov.

“This is a provocation, blatant, aimed at disrupting the implementation of the Minsk agreements. They are, however, not carried out by the Kiev authorities”, – he added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 22 Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said about the possibility of the meeting of heads of foreign policy departments of the countries “Norman Quartet” in new York in the second half of September during the meeting of the UN General Assembly.

Reference to UNIAN. Zakharchenko was killed on 31 August in an explosion in the restaurant “Separable” in the center of Donetsk.

The SBU suggested that his death could be the result of internal criminal conflicts among the militants, primarily related to the distribution business. Additionally, the SBU did not rule out involvement in the murder of the leader of fighters of the Russian special services, for which a rather odious figure Zakharchenko could become superfluous and in the way.

The foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation in the murder Zakharchenko accused Ukraine.
